Client Anti-discrimination Policy

It is the policy of Ridge House to help all applicants for services in the admission of, or the provision of care. Ridge House prohibits discrimination that results in a person not being treated with dignity and which is based wholly or partially on the actual or perceived race, color, religion, national origin, ancestry, age, gender, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression or human immunodeficiency virus status of clients.

We prohibit indirect discrimination that may or may not be intentional and which results in the application of policies that are uniformly and in a nondiscriminatory manner by the facility.

We prohibit discrimination which is based wholly or partially on the person associating with other persons who are actually or perceived to be of a different race, color, religion, national origin, ancestry, age, gender, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression or human immunodeficiency virus status of a person; or actually or perceived to have a physical or mental disability.

 

We prohibit the harassment or bullying of any kind of a person because of his or her actual or perceived race, color, religion, national origin, ancestry, age, gender, physical or mental disability, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression or human immunodeficiency virus status.

We do not discriminate against a client based on the source of payment for services provided.

We will address clients by their preferred name and pronoun in accordance with his or her gender identity or expression.

A person who has experienced prohibited discrimination may file a complaint with the Executive Director who is responsible for ensuring that the facility follows this policy. The Executive Director is responsible for the processing of such complaints by maintaining a log of complaints and actions taken by the facility to investigate and resolve the complaint. Such complaints will be address within 72 hours.
