Residential treatment is offered in a family style therapeutic environment. All residential programs are operated from a home with a live in house manager, structured group and individual counseling, family style meals, recreation, and on site supervision. Currently Ridge House has two residential facilities for women, three residential facilities for men and one transitional living facility for those clients not in need of the more restrictive setting of residential care.

Our outpatient program operates from our newly acquired outpatient resource center and provides ongoing services for clients leaving residential treatment as well as clients needing level I care.

The Ridge House gives priority admission in the following order
1. Pregnant, IV drug user.
2. Pregnant
3. IV drug user
4. All others

Ridge House's treatment philosophy follows the disease concept of addiction and adheres to NIDA's 13 principles for effective treatment.

1. No single treatment is appropriate for all individuals;
2. Treatment needs to be readily available;
3. Effective treatment attends to multiple needs;
4. Treatment needs to be flexible;
5. Remaining in treatment for an adequate period of time is critical to treatment effectiveness;
6. Individual and/or group counseling and other behavioral therapies are critical components of effective treatment for addiction;
7. Medications are an important element of treatment for many patients;
8. Addicted or drug-abusing individuals with coexisting mental disorders should have both disorders treated in an integrated way;
9. Medical detoxification is only the first stage of addiction treatment;
10. Treatment does not need to be voluntary to be effective;
11. Possible drug use during treatment must be monitored continuously;
12. Treatment programs should provide assessment for HIV/AIDS, hepatitis B and C, tuberculosis and other infectious diseases;
13. Recovery from drug addiction can be a long-term process.
